Square Foot Gardening: A New Way to Garden in Less Space with Less Work
by Mel Bartholomew
One of the bestselling gardening books ever, newly reissued in 2005. This book is the bible for those of us growing vegetables in limited space and with limited time. One drawback: limited coverage of organic techniques.

for me, this book took the frustration out of vegetable gardening...i used to just throw out some seeds, add lots of fertilizer, and get embarrassed when things didn't work out
i've learned that a little planning makes a big difference...i started with four feet square and we had our first home-grown vegetables ever
the book deserves its reputation
