Fuchsias: A Colour Guide

by George Bartlett

A customer review sums it up: "The Fuchsia Enthusiast's Bible."  You'll know that you're serious about fuschias when you realize that you must have this book.  An introductory section explains successful cultivation of fuchsias, while the remainder covers 2,000 of the most popular cultivars.  My backyard only has about five cultivars, so I've a ways to go before I outgrow this reference.

This book is a must for the enthusiast.  It was clearly written by an enthusiast, with unusually rich descriptions of each plant accompanying crisp photographs.  Also a rich source of cultural information.

Fuchsias: A Practical Step-By-Step Guide

by Carol Gubler and Neil Sutherland

This book is packed with information and beautiful photographs, but I think the best section is the Variety Guide.  I see nice fuchsia all the time that are unlabeled, and inquiring with the staff usually yields no information.  It is handy to be able to put a name on those plants after you've got them home.

Fuchsia (A Care Manual)

by David Clark

From the Care Manual series, this book offers direct and accesible advice on caring for fuchsias.  The author is a gold-medal winner at the Chelsea Flower Show many times over, but nevertheless offers excellent practical advice for beginners.

Fuchsias: The Complete Guide

by Edwin Goulding and Alison M. Jones

A complete and beautiful work, the perfect choice for a committed fuchsia gardener.  This book has information on propagation (most important to me!), soils, shaping and pruning, pests and diseases, and hybridizing.  For me, a long-time seed lover, hybridizing is the next frontier.
